Honor of the Waves Dungeon Guide
This Honor of the Waves dungeon guide for Guild Wars 2 includes basic info, a map for the location and strategies for both normal and explorable mode of the dungeon. Basic Info
- Dungeon Name: Honor of the Waves

- Location: Frostgorge Sound, Shiverpeak Mountains
- Level: 76 Story Mode, 80 Explorable Mode
Map Location
Story (Level 76)
- Mostly easy, end boss very tough. Takes 45-60 minutes.
- Destroy icecrystal. It spawns enemies.
- Kill stuff.
- Occasional knockback on melee-range.
- Staff projectiles knockback.
- Some kind of AoE-thing.
- Run back to corridor to get out-of-combat regeneration if needed.
- Medium damage auto-attack.
- Spins: Reflects and small damage on melee.
- Turns to a dog. Charge knockdowns.
- Light torches.
- Don't kill enemies until door has melted. They just respawn and you need to kill them again.
- Kill spawned adds.
- Don't stand in AoE, it does lots of damage.
- Ice-spray: Dodge.
- Does some low damage stuff.
- Focus lizard to reduce pressure (might be pullable).
- B: Spin: Medium damage melee AoE. Knockbacks.
- Try dodge. - B: Eat: Glows? to eat. Medium damage. Continuous ~5 second stun.
- Dodge. - B: Spits poison-wells: Low damage ticks. Poisons.
- Stay out. - H: Leap: Leap with high damage.
- Dodge. - H: Horn self-buff: Grants fury and might.
- H: Hunter’s Call: Spawns birds to attack one target for ~4 seconds. Low damage ticks (= very high damage).
- Use immunity or dodge (4 times if possible). - H: Melee stuff: High damage.
- Try dodge.
- Stay ranged and kite.
Explorable (Level 80)
- Path 1 (Butcher): Easy path. Takes about 15-30 minutes with decent team.
- Path 2 (Plunderer): Easy path. Takes about 30-45 minutes with decent team.
- Path 3 (Zealot): Medium difficulty. Path has bit hard end-boss and some strong trash packs.. Takes about 45-60 minutes with decent team.
Start
- Kill first group
- Kill "structures" to open door.
- Can skip to next boss (take upper path and jump down).
- Attack: Medium damage melee.
- Dodge / run behind. - Charged attack: High damage melee. Bleeds.
- Run behind.
- Clean area.
- Focus on spawned minions.
- Frostbolt / Frostbolt Volley: Medium damage projectile, additional damage to Chilled targets?
- Dodge/tank. - Frozen Ground: AoE with medium damage ticks. Chills.
- Dodge/run out.
- For faster kill keep Protection-totem down.
- Splitblade: 3 projectiles with medium damage. Pulls.
- Dodge. - Crude Swing: High damage melee. Big range.
- Dodge / run away. - Whirling Defense: Spin with medium damage ticks (very high damage). Reflects projectiles.
- Dodge. Melee attacks slightly out-range so you can keep attacking.
- Stop shooting. - Icy-ground: AoE. Chills.
- Walk out.
Torn Hur
- Frost Aura: AoE on melee-range with medium damage.. Knockback. Applies Chilled and Vulnerability. "Sticks sword to ground"
- Throw Greatsword: Projectile with medium damage. Launches.
- Flurry: Channeled multi-melee attack with low damage ticks (high damage). Last attack spawns projectiles.
- Leap: Leap with low damage. Spawns projectiles.
- Skippable.
- Dash: knock?, medium damage, leaves icy-ground (Chill + Vulnerability). "Glows"
- Dodge/avoid. - Maul: Homing high damage projectile.
- Jab: High damage AoE melee.
- Fears on melee-range. "Glows"
- Stun-break. - Spawns minions.
- Kill/ignore. - Maul: Homing high damage projectile.
- Jab: High damage AoE melee.
- Poron and Oolon are pullable. Otherwise focus Thug.
- P & O: Stab: Melee with medium damage.
- Quaggan Growth: Effect with medium damage. Applies Chilled.
- Cone of Cold: Spray with low damage ticks (high damage).
- Dodge twice or out-range with backward dodge. - Meteor Shower (Ice shards): Multiple AoE's with high damage. Applies Chilled.
- Walk out of circles, dodge if needed.
- Enemies skippable, hug right wall.
- Stab: Melee with medium damage.
- Throws mines.
- Dart: Spin with high damage ticks (very high damage).
- Keep your distance and dodge. May go melee for a while after this attack.
Champion Icebrood Goliath
- Kill silver-enemies first.
- Attack: Mele with medium damage.
- Leaps: Leap with high damage.
- Swipe: Melee with high damage.
- Bite: Melee with medium damage.
- Howl: Shout with medium damage. Applies Immobilized.
- AoE-effect: Damage.
- Leaps: Melee AoE with medium damage. Applies Bleeding.
- Dodge. - Spawns springs: AoE's with low damage. Launches.
- Walk out. - Turns iceshard: Regenerates and turns invulnerable.
- Destroy ice.
- Clear room from normal Jellywish.
- Crimson Tide: Ranged high damage attack. Applies bleeding.
- Dodge when you see "claws" on you. - Spawns Giant Arctic Jellyfish: Detonate: Explodes with very high AoE damage. Applies Chilled.
- Probably tied to Zealots animations, so dodge at right time. - Spawns Barracudas.
- Sinks: Sinks with low damage ticks.
